Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We do not sell your personal data — ever.

Introduction

JAvia ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Jayple mobile application and related services (the "Service").

This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with applicable data protection laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India, as well as internationally recognized privacy principles.

By using the Jayple application, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

Information We Collect

We collect several types of information to provide and improve the Jayple Service:

Personal Information

  • Full name, email address, and phone number provided during account registration.
  • Delivery addresses and billing information for order processing.
  • Profile photo, if you choose to upload one.
  • Government identification if required for identity verification.

Device Information

  • Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Mobile network information and IP address.
  • App version and crash diagnostics data.

Location Data

  • Precise GPS location (with your permission) to show nearby vendors and enable delivery.
  • Approximate location derived from IP address for analytics purposes.

Usage Data

  • Pages and features accessed within the app, and time spent on each.
  • Search queries, product views, and interaction patterns.
  • Order history, transaction records, and support interactions.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your user account and authenticate your identity.
  • To process orders, facilitate payments, and coordinate delivery between you and vendors.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries and complaints.
  • To personalize your experience, including product recommendations and vendor suggestions.
  • To send transactional notifications (order confirmations, delivery updates) and, with your consent, promotional communications.
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve the functionality, performance, and security of our Service.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse, and other illegal activities.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

We will not use your personal data for any purpose materially different from those listed above without providing you with advance notice and, where required, obtaining your consent.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

We may share your information with the following categories of third parties strictly as necessary to operate the Service:

  • Vendors: We share your delivery address and order details with the vendor fulfilling your order.
  • Payment Processors: We use industry-standard third-party payment gateways to process transactions securely. These processors receive only the information necessary to complete the payment.
  • Logistics Partners: Delivery and logistics service providers may receive your name and delivery address to fulfil your order.
  • Analytics Providers: We use anonymized and aggregated analytics data to understand app performance. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.
  • Legal Authorities: We may disclose your information to law enforcement, regulatory authorities, or courts if required by applicable law or in response to valid legal process.

All third-party service providers are contractually obligated to protect your personal data and are prohibited from using it for any purpose other than providing services to JAvia.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Jayple uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience. These include:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for core app functionality, such as keeping you logged in and maintaining your shopping cart.
  • Performance Cookies: Used to collect anonymous statistics about how users interact with the app to help us improve performance.
  • Preference Cookies: Used to remember your settings and preferences, such as language and notification preferences.

You can control cookie settings through your device's browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Service. We do not use cookies to track your browsing activity outside of the Jayple application.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. When you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where:

  • Retention is required by applicable law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Retention is necessary to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or protect JAvia's legal rights.
  • Transaction records are required to be retained for tax or financial reporting purposes under Indian law.

Anonymized and aggregated data derived from your information may be retained indefinitely for analytical and research purposes, as this data can no longer be used to identify you.

Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws, including the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Right to Grievance Redressal: You have the right to file a complaint with JAvia's grievance officer if you believe your data rights have been violated.

Data Security

We take the security of your personal data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our security measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols.
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest using AES-256 encryption.
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Role-based access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.
  • Secure payment processing through PCI DSS-compliant payment gateways.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the appropriate regulatory authorities as required by law.

Children's Privacy

The Jayple application is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at legal@javia.in. Upon verification, we will take steps to promptly delete such information from our systems.

Users between the ages of 13 and 18 may only use Jayple with the explicit consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who shall be responsible for ensuring compliance with these Terms.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes to this policy, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
  • Provide in-app notification of significant changes.
  • Where required by law, seek your renewed consent for any new processing activities.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of the Jayple Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
